From the cheapest to the more grand there is something to accommodate every preference and budget. The cool thing about youth hostel is that tons of university students flock to them since they are cheap and enjoyable so there is continuously lots of student travelers around to party with! In generally every o… Continue

Ashley Brown Silver Star - Not to be missed!

Silver Star bike pass is located just outside of Vernon, BC and is one of the sickest places I have ever ridden! The trails are really well maintained and super fun! We rode a lot of trails but kept going back to the old fav’s of Double Dog, World Cup and Rock Star. There is an abundance of… Continue

Ashley Brown Penticton, BC

I recently visited Pentiction to ride some of the local trails. The Three Blind Mice area overlooks Okanagan Lake to the west. There are many trails within this area so be careful not to get turned around. This area is mainly composed of beautiful ponderosa pine rock bluffs and grasslands.… Continue

Ashley Brown Panorama - Great place to ride.

If you're ever in Invermere, BC be sure to check out Panorama. I just spent a few days riding both the local XC and the bike park. There is lots of really good Singletrack and the bike park is pretty sweet, the trails are well maintained very rocky and rooty but fun to ride. The XC is spectacular but be sure to carry bear spray! While I was there it was the start of the Trans - Rockies looked very cool. Invermere is a great place so be sure to visit after you have been to Fernie! Continue

Mike Brcic 1st Don Valley Skills Session on Thursday July 30

Had a fantastic time last Thursday at our 1st Don Valley Skills Session. We were a bit unsure whether to go ahead due to a sloppy weekend of rain, but it turned out that the trails were in great shape. We had 12 people come out, some of them from our postponed June session. It was a wide range, from some total beginners to more advanced riders. Rob Fex and I took the beginner/intermediate group, and Mike Garrigan took the advanced riders. Our group stuck to the riverside trail, which is mostly… Continue

Mike Brcic Slovenia: MTB paradise

We arrived in Slovenia on Saturday and have been riding hard ever since. On Sunday we rode 45 km of beautiful singletrack around Dixi's farm/mountain bike park. There are dozens of trails around his lodge in the Karawanke Range of northern Slovenia. A few times we even crossed the border into Austria (no one asked for our passports, since Slovenia and Austria are both EU countries, and no one seemed to be guarding the singletrack...). On Monday we crossed into Austria (across the valley) and to… Continue
